Heather Keizur & Chris Christofferson-PDX Jazz Festival

February 23, 2017 // 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

$8

Heather Keizur, a jazz vocalist who sings in both English and French, is emerging as one of the most unique and gifted singers on the Northwest Jazz scene. When asked why she sings in French, Heather says, “I grew up in Canada where I fell in love with the French language. It’s so musical, it’s beautiful to simply hear it spoken. Add that to the poignant melodies and lyrics written by greats like Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel, and I am compelled to sing these passionate songs.”

Shades of Dalida, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole and Henri Salvador can be found in Heather’s latest CD, Under My Skin, a sultry, expressive, soothing, and romantic album with classic ballads, jazz standards and some authentic French chansons. Her first CD, J’ai Deux Amours, a handful of beautiful melodies of love and longing, many sung in French, speaks to Heather’s love of Edith Piaf, Blossom Dearie and Billie Holiday.

She has sung with some of the Northwest’s premier jazz musicians, including Steve Christofferson, Tom Grant, Vince Frates, Dave Captein, Dennis Caiazza,  and Ron Steen, as well as bay area pianist David K Mathews who is currently touring with Santana and Seattle’s Milo Petersen, formerly with Eartha Kitt.  CALL FOR RESERVATIONS 503.223.0070.

COVER CHARGES apply when Wilfs features live music in our dining room and bar area – Wednesday – Saturday, 7pm.
Quite simply, the cover charge is equity paid directly to the artists that you are enjoying each night at Wilfs. Our new policy includes a $5 charge to all dining in our main dining room. We thank you in advance for your support of insuring equity for all.

When you join us for drinks or dinner and plan on leaving before the 7pm music starts, we won’t ask for a cover charge. That does not mean you can come early and avoid paying the cover – we want to make sure our musicians are paid for their performance. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask your host.
