In celebration of 10 seasons performing cabaret shows at Wilfs, The HollyTones share a collection of their favorite holiday music as they walk down memory lane. The HollyTones — a trio of seasoned musical theater and cabaret performers — have become a tradition among Portlanders looking for a more intimate and engaging musical experience to get in the holiday spirit.
The HollyTones got their start in 1999 when Laurie, Wendy and Kregg, while singing together as members of the Oregon Symphony’s Leyden Singers, were invited to put a holiday show together at Sunriver Resort. More than a decade later, the group stays true to their origins by offering Portland-area audiences a unique cabaret-style show of festive, poignant and sometimes wacky arrangements of holiday tunes.
This year’s lineup includes Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, Happy Holidays, Man with the Bag, Surabaya Santa, Silver Bells, A White Christmas medley, plus many more. Wilf’s, Portland’s home to cabaret, provides a welcoming atmosphere for audiences as they enjoy the hour-long show with plenty of holiday surprises.
The HollyTones, with direction by Dan Murphy and musical direction and accompaniment by Darcy White, perform Tuesdays, December 8 and 15, and Wednesdays, December 9 and 16. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. There is a $15 cover charge and reservations are highly recommended by calling 503-223-0070.
